Toronto’s Best in CNC Milling, Design and Fabrication

CNC Cutting Inc. has been operating in Toronto, Ontario as a professional fabrication lab open to all professions and all scales of projects since 2014.

We provide a one-stop turn-key project solution for your projects. We can take a conceptual design through to completion. We handle all material concerns and third-party contractors if required, so you don't have to worry.

Along with a full functioning wood shop, cabinetry and solid surface fabrication tools, we have two 5' x 10' (1524mm x 3048mm) 3 axis CNC router machines with a 10" Z-axis capability. Thanks to our in-house expertise in machining and fabrication, we have been able to accomplish projects that were initially considered only possible with a 5 axis machine in sizes far beyond our machining area.

We have also recently launched a new laser cutting and design studio, Larrikin, with a powerful, large scale laser.

CNC Machine Operator

We’re on the hunt for someone to join our CNC team in Etobicoke to help with programming and running the machines. This is an ongoing role, in the shop from Mon-Fri, 9-5:30.

We do a lot of different things every day here at CNC Cutting Inc, so hopefully you also appreciate variety in your work. One day, you might be cutting pieces for a furniture designer or making cutting boards, the next it might be a large-scale architectural installation. You can get a sense of the wide variety of projects we do by visiting cnccutting.ca or checking out our instagram (@cnccutting.ca).

The ideal candidate will have either a certification or some working experience in running and troubleshooting CNC machines, programming for cutting, and be comfortable getting their hands dirty making things and standing for long periods of time in a shop environment. It’d be extra nice if you had a forklift license, or experience driving a forklift. From time to time, there may be a need to amend files or program simple processes.

What you’ll do

  • Program and operate two 3-axis CNC machines

  • Occasionally troubleshooting CNC machines as necessary

  • Keep the CNC area in the shop clean, organized and operating smoothly

  • Organize and maintain material and inventory

  • Occasionally make small amendments to cut files as necessary

  • Receive deliveries and material shipments

What you need

  • Punctuality and positivity

  • Experience running/troubleshooting CNC machines

  • Ability to lift 50lbs to waist height

  • Full time availability (Monday-Friday, 9-5:30)

  • Experience programming for CNCs

  • Be legally able to work in Canada without sponsorship

Bonus points for

  • We work a lot with wood, acrylics, and high density foams, so familiarity with those materials would be nice

  • Forklift license/experience

  • Experience modelling would be nice, but is not necessary

Why work with us?

We’re a small team of enthusiastic, creative people who like to make cool things. You’ll like working with us if you like:

  • Puns

  • A casual work environment including BBQs and other fun times

  • Training opportunities

  • Opportunities to try different things in the making space

  • Weekly pay with vacation paid out on every paycheque

  • Health Spending Account

  • Team-based performance bonuses

Pay rate: $20-$22/hour depending on experience. If you're an absolute rock star with tons of experience, we can can discuss this rate.

If you feel like you only meet 90% of the criteria above, please apply anyway by sending your resume to yeri@cnccutting.ca & david@cnccutting.ca
